In today’s fast-changing world, sharing an opinion, managing a conflict, maintaining relationships and doing what you like best is becoming a challenge. The question is are we raising children the right way? We as adults surely know that children need more than just good marks in exams. Life is more than that. While academic knowledge is important, it’s the life skills that truly prepare them for the real world.

Why? Because life skills help children understand themselves, handle emotions, solve problems, and connect better with others.
Where? Schools. A space that plays a powerful role in shaping not just what to know, but who they become. A 2025 study published in BMC Public Health found that life skills programs significantly improved students’ school attendance, self-efficacy, and resilience.
Here are three things, in my opinion, where the world needs to focus.
-
Language – Using words wisely.
Isn’t language more than grammar and vocabulary? It’s about being able to express thoughts, feelings, and ideas clearly and confidently. Children who can speak and write well feel more confident in all areas of life. Good communication helps build better friendships and teamwork.
Let’s focus on helping children speak from the heart, listen with attention, and write with impact.

-
Life – The Art of Loving My Own Life!
Academic subjects teach children how to score, but life skills teach them how to live. The numbness we experience when the suicide news flashes on our screens, the feeling of helplessneas, the questions on what could have been done to save little children? Aren’t we all responsible?
Children today face more pressure than ever before—competition, social media, and changing family dynamics.
We focus on emotional strength, kindness, mindfulness, and self-care. managing stress, building good habits, and staying happy are life lessons that will make a huge difference and we all know it works! The question is can we start early?
-
Leadership – The Courage to Take Charge!
Every child is a leader, some lead with words, others with actions, and some with silent strength. Lets reach them that leadership doesn’t mean standing on a stage; collecting trophies and expecting appreciation all the time. It means being responsible, making good choices, and thinking for the whole group. Of understanding people, finding solutions, experiencing failure too.
Let’s create opportunities for children to take charge of projects, help peers, and solve real-life problems. Because, leadership isn’t about controlling others, but someone who first knows how to lead themselves.
-
The Big Tree Of Three – Language, Life, and Leadership
These three L’s are deeply connected. A child who knows how to speak well (Language), handle emotions (Life), and take responsibility (Leadership) becomes a powerful human being.
Imagine a student who can present an idea, work well with a team, and stay calm under pressure—that’s true education.
When schools blend these three elements into everyday learning, children don’t just pass exams—they grow into changemakers.

What can we do as schools, parents, and educators?
Let’s create classrooms that go beyond textbooks.
Let’s start each day with a meaningful question.
Let’s give children a voice, a choice, and a chance to shine.
Because one day, these children will lead families, companies, communities—and the world.
Let’s gift them not just knowledge, but wisdom.
Not just facts, but courage.
Not just a degree, but a beautiful life.
